Manual screens are the most basic and classical pre-treatment equipment used in water and wastewater treatment plants, bypass lines, or small-scale treatment systems where there is no electrical energy, where solid materials are cleaned by human power (by means of a rake).
In order to ensure the continuous operation of the facility during periods when automatic screens are under maintenance, it is a legal necessity for operational safety to place a manual screen in the bypass channels built parallel to the automatic screen lines.
Our manual screens are designed to be fixed inside the channel, usually at an angle of 45° to 60°, depending on the channel slope.
The screen bars, entirely made of AISI 304 or 316 quality stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized steel, can be arranged in coarse (20-40 mm) or fine (10-20 mm) intervals according to the needs of your project.
Solid wastes retained as the water passes through the screen are scraped and pulled by a hand rake onto a perforated draining pan (waste collection pan) located at the top of the screen.
The wastes drained here are then thrown into the garbage. Thanks to their simple structure, there is no risk of mechanical failure, electrical consumption, or part wear.
