The term "multimedia" refers to the arrangement of multiple filtration layers with different granule sizes and densities (anthracite, quartz sands of different sizes, and gravel layers) in layers within the filter tank, rather than a single material.
As water flows downwards through these layers, the top coarse layers catch large particles, and as it descends to the lower layers, even the finest micro-particles are successfully filtered.
This graded structure ensures that the filter performs filtration not only on the surface but throughout the entire bed depth, maximizing sludge holding capacity and keeping pressure loss to a minimum.
After a certain operating period or when a pressure differential occurs, the system automatically switches to the "Backwash" mode.
High-flow water supplied from bottom to top expands the bed, and all the retained sediment and dirt are discharged through the drainage line.
